The world-class international marathon attracts 35,000 participants of all ages and abilities from over 50 countries across eight races including the ASICS Gold Coast Marathon, Wheelchair Marathon, China Airlines Half Marathon, Southern Cross University 10km Run, Wheelchair 10km, Gold Coast Airport 5km, the Australia Fair 2km Junior Dash and the Fixx Nutrition Gold Coast Double 63.3km.

The ASICS Gold Coast Marathon, an World Athletics Label Road Race, is the pinnacle of road running events in Australia and during its history has distinguished itself as one of the most prestigious marathons in the world.

Its famous flat, fast and scenic course located alongside the city’s renowned surf beaches and broadwater plus ideal winter running conditions featuring low humidity, little wind and mild temperatures result in 60% of participants achieving personal best times each year.

Participants are championed to the magnificent grandstand finish chute located adjacent to the broadwater in Southport by the unforgettable boisterous cheers from thousands of enthusiastic Gold Coast locals lining the streets from Paradise Point in the north to the southern turn in Miami.

Friends, family and supporters across the globe experience the colour and competition of Australia’s leading marathon with the event being broadcast into 850 million households in 129 countries via its live webcast and official television program.

Visitors and locals can also enjoy the free ASICS Sport & Leisure Expo, Australia’s largest running expo featuring more than 50 health and fitness exhibitors, and will have the chance to meet Australian marathon legends Rob de Castella, Steve Moneghetti, Pat Carroll and Benita Willis.
